Syzygium
It’s been more than a year since I set up my herbal
garden. I am pleased that most of plants are growing well through care of a
junior gardener, which is me…. I am actually quite surprised that most of them
have survived after seasonal attacks by white flies, aphids, slugs, spider
mites, and even a possum almost finished off the herbs while we were away to
England.
The current herbal garden has Basil, Chili, Coriander,
Mints, Oregano, Parsley, Sage, Spring Onion, Thyme and one lettuce. I can’t say
that they are in good condition, but they provide enough supply for my daily
cooking.
We have also got new plants, an Iceberg Rose and Syzygium
Australe, for the empty balcony of the new apartment. Hopefully they will feel
at home and grow happy in our balcony and gradually transform my practical
herbal garden to a relaxing floral garden.
Booming Basil but with little leaves... |
Mints and Coriander with brooming flowers |
Coriader flowers |
Chili plant survived from spider mites attack (the milk with water turned out to be the most efficient spider mite repellent) |
The lettus with an "attitude"... |
The herbal plants with sage, oregano, thyme, and parsley |
We bought the Iceberg Rose with most of buds in the shop :-) |
After all flower wilted, this is first rose bud grew from tiny shoot in our balcony! |
