一”夜”知秋

夏季走後, 太陽就變得勢利了, 早晨六點她姍姍來遲, 傍晚六點她收工回家, 偶爾還躲在厚厚的雲層後面偷懶不開工…, 開始想念台灣有人情味的秋日陽光.

住處附近的楓樹, 漸漸由綠轉黃, 轉紅, 掉落, 每一個隔夜, 門前的人行道就變成楓葉道, 雖然白天過往行人會將樹葉踩碎, 市公所的清潔人員會定期清掃樹葉, 楓樹們還是義無反顧的把樹葉抖落, 把路面鋪滿, 競相露出光禿禿的枝椏, 展示清爽的冬日風貌…, 我說: … 需要這麼急嗎!? 我秋天的衣服都還沒拿出來穿, 現在就得跳過, 直接拿出冬天的裝備了!

雪梨從5月27日開始到6月13日展開冬季節慶活動: Vivid Sydney, 是在晚上舉辦的聲光秀, 主秀場是歌劇院, 但延著港灣有許多光影秀, 和光影藝術陳列, 市中心和岩石區也有不同活動, 詳情請看: http://vividsydney.com

Neutral Bay / Charlie Lovett Caf'e

澳洲有很好的咖啡文化, 這裡沒有藝文氣氛, 咖啡廳裡也不放音樂, 但吧台出來的咖啡都很香醇, 廚房端出的食物看起來都很新鮮可口, 服務人員的招呼都很真誠但不過度熱情, 舒服的氣氛讓人想賴在這裡一杯一杯喝下去. Andy 總是說 S 牌連鎖咖啡店在澳洲生存得很辛苦, 因為這裡的local caf’e文化太吸引人了, 所以很少有人會去光顧制式服務的 S 牌咖啡店.

Charlie Lovett Caf’e 是澳洲小型連鎖咖啡店, 在 Neutral Bay 的這家因為地利之便,是我們常去的local café, 除了和一般咖啡廳類似, 都是半開放空間, 廚櫃裡也總是擺滿新鮮的麵包, 三明治, 和各式早餐 (但沒有現煎的雞蛋, 各式煎蛋已包在做好的三明治裡了), 但這裡的服務人員非常親切, 即使店裡客人滿座, 櫃台前一直有一排客人在等點餐, 他們還是快速又和氣的招呼客人, 我想是受店長的個性影響, 這個店長在櫃台前負責點餐, 就是笑容最大的那位服務人員, 環繞桌邊清桌面, 就是最賣力的店小二.

Just like many nice local caf’e in Australia, Charlie Lovett has good roasted coffee, good quality of food and comfortable service. We visit Charlie Lovett in Neutral Bay often, the sunshine always comes in from side window to counter, it is probably the reason I think their staffs have greatest smile in whole lower north shore of SYD.

Charlie Lovett serves breakfast as finger food style, everything in wrap, so you can have food with one hand only and spare another hand for book or news paper.

I like their toast very much as their bread always taste fresh and in good quality.

秋高氣爽溜狗日 / Ingleside Doggie Rescue

室友提到一個私立的流浪狗收留所, 專門收留公立收容所內沒人認養的流浪狗, 一般狀況, 在公立收容所沒人認養的狗, 就是讓牠們安樂死, Doggie Rescue 接收他們, 安置牠們, 並提供喜歡狗狗的人到園區裡幫忙溜狗, 所以只要有四隻腳都很愛的Andy 迫不及待的在這個週末就跑去溜狗了

目前園內收容了近百隻的流浪狗, 本來以為園區會有很重的狗狗味道, 但是很慶幸什麼味道都沒有, 每隻狗狗都被照顧得很好, 沒有過動兒, 也沒有經神衰弱狗, 特別是待辦公室裡的十數隻狗狗, 都很自在的在園區裡招呼每個訪客 (慢慢走到訪客旁邊, 看著你, 所以你會自動蹲下來跟牠們打招呼, 他們就很大方的讓你拍拍頭, 搔搔癢, 或是停在出口的唯一道路看著你, 所以你要回家時, 也會蹲下來, 跟他們說再見)

進入園區辦完溜狗登記後, 義工將要散步的狗狗, 還有便便袋和狗餅乾交給你,之後你便可帶狗狗散步去了! 基本散步時間是 30分鐘, 如果有時間, 還可繼續帶別的狗狗去散步. 散步範圍是園區附近的道路, 山區道路有坡度, 提供狗狗很好的運動場所, Andy 的狗狗一路興奮的又嗅又聞, 又跑又跳, 直到回到園區才露出馬腳, 因為牠一回到圍欄, 就直接躦進牠的小屋休息去了, 哈哈!

Doggie Rescue was introduced by our house mates. It is a private charity centre who takes care of dogs which would normally be placed in the Council Pounds, and possibly put down.

Doggie Rescue is currently taking care of 100 or more dogs, I think it’s very good idea to have volunteers to help walking dogs. Dogs in Doggie Rescue are all healthy, clean, and happy, with nearly 10 friendly dogs staying in the office instead of the compound, these being the best ambassadors of Doggie Rescue. These dos walk slowly by you and enjoy a stroke and pat. 

After having registered, the Doggie Rescue volunteers will bring a dog out and pass you a poo bag and dog biscuit, then off you go. The average walking time is 30mins and after one go you may walk another dog if you want. The main walking area is around compound, the hilly roads provide good exercise for the dogs.

All in all, tt is a beautiful day to walk both dog and people :-)
